Terms of Service
In force from 1 September 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and REISLE LTD for your use of Reisle. By creating an account, listing an item, or buying one, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
1. Who we are
Reisle is operated by REISLE LTD, a private company limited by shares registered in England and Wales under company number 17404472. We run a marketplace for buying and selling secondhand items in Jersey. Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).
You can reach us at hello@reisle.je.
2. What Reisle is — and is not
Reisle is a venue. When you buy something here, the contract of sale is between you and the seller. We are not the seller, not a party to that contract, and not an agent for either side of it. We do not own, inspect, store or handle the items listed.
What we do provide is the machinery around the sale: the listing, the messaging, the payment flow, the delivery options and the dispute process described below. Where those processes give us a decision to make — resolving a claim, for instance — we make it under these terms, but that does not make us a party to your sale.
3. Your account
- You must be at least 18 to hold an account.
- Give us accurate registration details and keep them current. Verify your email address when we ask — some features depend on it.
- One person, one account. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for activity under your account. If you think someone else has access, change your password and use sign out of all devices immediately.
- To sell, you connect your own PayPal account. That connection is where your money is paid, so we treat changes to it as security-sensitive.
- You can close your account at any time from your account page. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.
4. Selling and listing items
When you list an item, you are telling buyers it is yours to sell. Specifically:
- You own the item, or are otherwise entitled to sell it, and selling it is lawful.
- Your description, condition rating and photographs are honest and are of the actual item. Faults, damage and missing parts belong in the description.
- The item is not prohibited. Weapons, drugs, counterfeits, stolen goods, live animals, recalled or age-restricted goods and anything else unlawful to sell are not permitted. We screen listings automatically at the point of publication and review reported ones, but the responsibility for what you list is yours.
- If you sell the item elsewhere, close the listing. Listings expire on their own if left unattended, and can be re-listed.
An accepted offer or a completed checkout commits you to the sale at that price. Pulling out after a buyer has paid means a refund, and repeated non-dispatch is grounds for suspension.
5. Buying
You can buy at the asking price or make an offer. Offers lapse if the seller does not respond, and there is a floor on how low an offer can be — the site tells you both at the time. An accepted offer is a commitment to buy.
At checkout you pay the item price plus the delivery cost quoted for the method you choose. Check the description and ask the seller anything you need to before you buy: the item is secondhand, and “as described” is measured against the listing.
6. Payment, and how the money moves
Payment is taken through PayPal’s own hosted flow. Your card details are entered with PayPal and never reach Reisle’s systems — we neither see nor store them.
The money is released to the seller on the earliest of these three:
- You confirm receipt. Once you tell us the item arrived and is as described, the funds are released.
- 14 days after delivery. If the parcel is tracked and shows as delivered and you say nothing, the funds release automatically.
- 14 days after payment. Where there is no tracking to wait on — an in-person handover, for instance — the clock runs from payment instead.
Opening an issue pauses the clock. Release does not happen while a claim is open, and the outcome of the claim decides where the money goes.
7. Fees
- Buying
- Free. You pay the item price and the delivery cost, and nothing else.
- Listing
- Free. Listing an item costs nothing.
- Selling
- 8% of the item price, deducted from your proceeds when the sale completes. The fee is charged on the item only — never on the postage you are reimbursed for.
- Promotions
- Optional paid visibility (bumps and spotlights). The price is shown before you buy one, and promotions are non-refundable once they start running.
- If a sale is refunded in full
- We give up our fee. There was no sale to take a commission on, and you get back what you paid.
- If a sale is partially refunded
- The sale stands at a reduced price. The seller funds the adjustment and our fee is unchanged.
The fee in force when an order is placed is the fee that order is charged. If we change it, orders already placed keep the rate they were quoted, and the change appears on this page.
8. Delivery and collection
Sellers choose which methods they offer: a tracked Jersey Post parcel, delivery by the seller, or collection in person. The cost is quoted at checkout and passed to the seller to cover the postage they buy at the counter — Reisle does not sell postage or issue labels.
- Sellers have 5 days to dispatch. Miss it and the order is refunded automatically. Where the method is tracked, enter the tracking reference — it is what evidences dispatch if a claim follows.
- For handovers in person, agree a public place and a time that suits you both. Confirm receipt once you have the item.
- Risk in the item passes on delivery or handover. A parcel lost or damaged in transit is a claim you can bring — see below.
9. If something goes wrong
Message the other person first: most problems are a misunderstanding and get sorted in a couple of messages. If that does not work, open an issue on the order.
- What you can claim for
- The item is not as described, it is counterfeit, it was lost or damaged in transit, or the seller did not dispatch in time.
- When to claim
- Within 3 days of delivery. Non-dispatch is handled automatically once the dispatch window passes.
- Seller's response
- 3 daysto accept the claim or contest it with evidence. No response resolves the claim in the buyer’s favour.
- Returns
- Where the item has to go back, the buyer has 7 days to post it and the seller 3 days to confirm it arrived. A return that is never posted dismisses the claim; a return that arrives and is not confirmed refunds automatically.
- Escalation
- Either side can escalate to us. We look at the listing, the messages, the tracking and the evidence filed, and decide: refund, partial refund, or claim dismissed. We will tell you why.
Our decision settles the claim on Reisle. It does not take away your right to pursue the matter elsewhere, including through PayPal’s own buyer protection or the courts, and nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
10. Conduct
Do not use Reisle to:
- Take payment off the platform. Paying by bank transfer or cash for a posted item strips the buyer of the held payment, the dispute process and the refund path in one step. It is the most common way people get defrauded on a marketplace. We scan messages for it and warn the sender, and persistent steering is grounds for suspension.
- Complete a sale arranged here off-platform in order to avoid the fee.
- Harass, abuse, threaten or impersonate anyone, or post content that is unlawful, discriminatory or obscene.
- List prohibited items, misrepresent what you are selling, or manipulate ratings — yours or anyone else’s.
- Scrape, probe, overload or reverse-engineer the site, or use it through automated means we have not authorised.
You can block another user, and report a listing, a message or a person from the report link on any of them.
11. Content you post
Your listings, photographs, messages and reviews stay yours. By posting them you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display them for the purpose of running and promoting the marketplace, for as long as you keep them on the site.
Only post content you have the right to post. We can remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
12. Moderation and suspension
We screen listings and messages automatically, and we act on reports. Where we find a breach we may remove a listing, issue a warning, restrict an account, or suspend it. A suspended account keeps read access but cannot buy, sell, offer or message.
Serious or repeated breaches — fraud, prohibited items, abuse — can mean permanent removal. Where we suspend or remove an account we will tell you why, and you can reply to that notice if you think we have it wrong. Open orders and claims are seen through to a conclusion either way.
13. Tax
Selling the odd unwanted item is not usually trading, but if you sell on Reisle as a business or with any regularity, whether you owe tax on it is between you and your tax authority. We do not give tax advice.
As a UK platform operator we are required to report certain sellers and their sales to HMRC each year, which means asking those sellers for details such as a legal name, date of birth, address and tax identification number. This only applies once a seller crosses the thresholds in those rules; most people never will. Where it does apply, providing those details is a condition of continuing to sell. The Privacy Policy explains how that information is handled.
14. Our responsibility to you
We provide the marketplace with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not vet users or verify items before they are listed.
Because we are not a party to your sale, we are not responsible for the item itself — its condition, its legality, or whether the other person does what they said they would. What we are responsible for is running the processes in these terms properly: the payment flow, the release conditions and the dispute process.
Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of opportunity, or losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you started using Reisle.
15. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms — to reflect a new feature, a change in the law, or a change in how the marketplace works. The date at the top tells you when the wording last moved, and the fees and time limits shown above are always the ones currently in force.
For changes that materially affect you we will give notice before they take effect. If you do not accept a change, you can close your account. Orders already placed stay under the terms that applied when they were placed.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If you live somewhere else — Jersey, most likely — this does not deprive you of the protection of any mandatory consumer law that applies where you live, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest of them continue to apply.
